đ DEEP COVER â Comedy, Crime & Improvisation Collide in Prime Videoâs Wildest Ride Yet
Release Date:Â June 12, 2025Streaming On:Â Amazon Prime Video
What happens when improv meets the criminal underworld? You get Deep Cover â a whip-smart, high-stakes action comedy that turns London's gangland upside down with a little help from some very confused actors. Premiering June 12 exclusively on Prime Video, this film fuses undercover grit with off-the-cuff laughs in a way only the British could pull off.
đŹ Plot: "Yes, and..." to the Underworld
Bryce Dallas Howard stars as Kat, a down-on-her-luck improv teacher teetering on the edge of obscurity. Just as she begins to question her life choices, a grizzled undercover cop played by Sean Bean hands her an offer she can't refuse: use her acting skills to pose as a gangster and help infiltrate a dangerous criminal network.
Instead of going it alone, Kat ropes in her two most eager (and least criminal-looking) students â played by Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed â for the performance of their lives. But the trio quickly find themselves deep in over their heads, forced to improvise their way through mob meetings, weapons deals, and terrifying crime bosses⊠all while never breaking character.
đ€”đȘïž A Cast Built for Chaos
The filmâs cast brings the perfect blend of gravitas and comedic chops:
Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) as Kat, the reluctant leader
Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings) as a charming yet clueless wannabe actor
Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso) as the anxious, awkward sidekick
Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) as the tough-as-nails cop with a soft spot for drama
Ian McShane, Paddy Considine, and Sonoya Mizuno round out the criminal elite
Directed by Tom Kingsley (Ghosts, Stath Lets Flats), and written by Colin Trevorrow, Derek Connolly, Ben Ashenden, and Alexander Owen, Deep Cover pairs razor-sharp British comedy with slick, stylish action.
đŁ Tone: Think Hot Fuzz Meets Tropic Thunder
From shootouts and mistaken identities to laugh-out-loud rehearsals disguised as gangland rituals, Deep Cover walks a wild tightrope. Expect fast-paced dialogue, perfectly executed comic timing, and a surprising amount of emotional heart buried beneath all the chaos.
And with Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) scoring the film, even the soundtrack keeps the energy dialed to eleven.
