Back to the beach, back to the drama.Ā
šŗReturn to ParadiseĀ Season 2 is finally here ā premiering Saturday, November 15 at 7:30 PMĀ on ABC TVĀ and ABC iviewĀ ā and the sun-soaked shores of Dolphin Cove are once again hiding deadly secrets.
This Australian-British crime comedy drama, a spin-off of the hit Death in ParadiseĀ universe, brings back the irresistible mix of mystery, humor, and heart that made Season 1 a hit. But this time, Detective Sergeant Mackenzie ClarkeĀ (Anna Samson) faces more than just murder ā she faces her past.
šµļøāāļø The Story So Far
When we last saw Mack, she was supposed to be back in London ā resuming her dream job and leaving Dolphin Cove behind. But love and guilt have a strange way of anchoring you. After her ex-fiancĆ© Glenn StrongĀ (Tai Hara) confessed he might still love her, Mack chose to stay.
Now, in Season 2, Mack is torn between rekindling a romance that once broke her heart and protecting a truth sheās not supposed to know. And while her emotional life is chaos, her professional life isnāt much calmer ā Dolphin Cove has a new string of bizarre murders that only she can untangle.
āYou can take the detective out of London, but you canāt take London out of the detective,ā Mack quips in one scene, standing over a body found floating near the pier.
šļø Paradise with a Dark Side
Return to ParadiseĀ has always thrived on contrast ā postcard-perfect beaches set against sinister crimes. Season 2 deepens that tone, blending sharp British wit with Australian warmth and charm.
This season promises six new mysteries, each darker and funnier than the last, as Mack and her quirky team ā Colin (Lloyd Griffith), Felix (Aaron McGrath), and the irrepressible Reggie (Celia Ireland) ā investigate crimes that range from the bizarre to the deeply personal.
But the emotional stakes are higher than ever. Mackās connection to Glenn ā and his overbearing mother-slash-boss Philomena StrongĀ (Catherine McClements) ā threatens to unravel everything sheās rebuilt.
Meanwhile, Glennās girlfriend DaisyĀ (Andrea Demetriades) isnāt exactly thrilled to see Mack back in his life. And when secrets about Glennās family surface, Return to ParadiseĀ transforms from a lighthearted procedural into a deeply personal story of loyalty, loss, and moral choices.
š Love, Lies, and Murder
Season 2ās central mystery may involve murder, but the real tension lies in Mackās moral crossroads. Can she protect the people she loves without breaking the law? Can she forgive herself for the mistakes that brought her home?
āMaybe paradise isnāt a place,ā Mack says quietly in one of the seasonās most emotional moments. āMaybe itās what you fight for when everything else falls apart.ā
Her complicated dynamic with Glenn gives the show its emotional heartbeat, while the eccentric residents of Dolphin Cove keep the humor alive ā proving once again why this series is such a perfect balance of heart and homicide.
š A Winning Return
Created by James Hall, Peter Mattessi, and Robert ThorogoodĀ (the mind behind Death in Paradise), this series continues to shine as one of ABCās best international co-productions. It even took home the Silver Logie for Best Drama ProgramĀ at the 2025 Logie Awards ā and for good reason.
The writing sparkles, the cinematography captures Australiaās coastal beauty, and Anna Samson gives a powerhouse performance as a detective whoās tough on the outside but quietly unraveling within.
